Before you tell me to call the Suicide Line or "get on meds," keep in mind: 1) I acknowledge that I have bipolar disorder. The meds thing is between my M.D. and me. 2) Almost all of the poetry I write is dark. The other stuff that I write is humor, unless it's shit. I can't write happy poetry any more than I can write good romance novels. That being said, if this is the kind of thing you like to read, enjoy. If not, find something else to read. You might enjoy the Happy Tree Friends.
THIS IS NOT A SPAM BLOG! You do not have to buy anything from me, but I do have a little website with gifts and goodies that you can purchase. Feel free to check it out. No pressure, but be forewarned that if you should decide not to buy from me, I will send Death Cheese to play at your birthday party.
Mostly because I can't write poetry when I'm happy. Anything I try to write when I'm feeling good is either funny or it just plain sucks.

"Ennui," a previously unpublished poem by the late Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Sylvia Plath, will appear November 1, 2006 in Blackbird: an online journal of literature and the arts (www.blackbird.vcu.edu). Journey, a published poet and recent winner of the Wabash Prize from Sycamore Review, is the author of a forthcoming scholarly article on "Ennui."

Hi! Love your multitude of blogs, but this one is my favorite! I can relate, poetry just doesn't flow well when I'm happy. So lately, I've been writing a lot of poetry... dunno if that's really a good thing. Anyway, I'll definitely be stopping my your blog(s) from time to time.
Terry, I don't think I'm allowed a preference. I am what I am. I never want to feel BAD, but maybe its necessary a to have a little gloom sometimes to write decently. Actually, comedy sometimes manifests from unhappy places too. People who don't go through this can never really understand it. I guess I don't see it as either good or bad. It just IS.
SC, Thanks for your kind thoughts! I'll look forward to seeing you again. There are other blogs that I update more often than this one, because with poetry, I can't just crack off an idea. It has to come to me!

Well, at least its appropriate Spam.
So which do you prefer? Feeling good and writing crummy, or feely crummy and writing good? Tough choice, I know. :-D
